    Located in the historical center not far from Piazza De Ferrari, this trattoria is housed in a building dated in the 1600s with high-vaulted ceilings and fanciful lighting. Proprietor Enrico Reboscio accepts reservations for a late-night supper after the opera or ballet. The menu is interesting and innovative. Specialties include pumpkin-based ravioli or zuppa di zucca, stoccafisso brandacujon, taglierini neri (pasta made with sepia ink). All credit cards accepted. Closed Mon.

    Located near the Porta Soprana Medieval gates, it is a small, recently restored restaurant which offers Genoese food in a cozy old-style Genoese atmosphere. Closed on Sat. afternoons and Sundays.

Patisserie Liquoreria Marescotti is a XVIII century pastry shop, tea room, and bar within walking distance of the Aquarium and Via Garibaldi. It preserves a Charles X style furnishing and a tiled floor based on a Rubens design.  You can find sweet specialties: pandolce  and Amaretti di Voltaggio. Lunch is served at noon, tea with pastries in the afternoon. From 6pm to 8pm you can enjoy international cocktails, the typical Marescotto and a wide selection of wines, sparkling wines, and champagne.  Dinner upon request for groups (min. 15 people).

    Located opposite the Aquarium and close to Vico Morchi, the site of the former hotel Croce di Malta where American authors (James Fenimore Cooper, Mark Twain, and Henry James) used to stay. Stand up trattoria for a quick lunch of fresh fried seafood and typical Genoese farinata.
