Antique Markets:
ANTIQUE MARKET AT PALAZZO DUCALE
A good quality antique market is being held every first weekend of the month in Palazzo Ducale. A number of stalls are also set up outside in Piazza Matteotti. This is a pleasant day out and gives an opportunity to meet the many dealers in all types of collectable items: postcards, glass, porcelain, kitchen items, fabrics, vintage jewelry, books, toys, hats, vintage clothes, brick-a-brick etc. Usually there is a small selection of antique furniture inside Palazzo Ducale. Most dealers will be happy to offer a discount if asked. As a general rule, ask the dealer to show you the item rather than touch it yourself. No markets in August and September. Serravalle is one of the largest designer shopping outlets in Europe. It is conveniently located between Genoa and Milan, in the province of Alessandria.
Apart from the usual top names in Italian fashion(Gucci, Prada, Louis Vuitton) Serravalle has numerous other brand names represented. Here you will find clothes, bags, shoes, jewelry, home interior design items, bedlinen, kitchen utensils, outdoor wear etc. Prices are very competitive and you can find real bargains in Serravalle! The outlet has been designed to be a village, where you can have a leisurely stroll into shops. Very suitable for families with small children. There are several restaurants and cafés in the area, but don’t expect gourmet food here.
